Meet the Artist
My name is Roxanne Tull. Born in Toronto in 1987.
My artwork is an expression of my love for life. I have been drawing and painting since the age of ten. I
usually draw on paper using a variety of media, without planning ahead.
I am visually impaired so I work seated at a high desk, my head tilted on an angle, with my face very near to the paper, as I have no left peripheral vision. However, because I am partially sighted, I can see shapes, colours, and textures. I typically create my art using variations of repeated motifs and compositions.
Music plays a profoundly important role in my creative process. I listen to music and sing while drawing. Together the sound, rhythm, and colour surround me like an audio-sensory cocoon.
